[He really had intended on resting and not getting sick, just as he had promised Makoto-chan he would. He couldn't get sick now, anyway; it's mid-swimming season, and Haru would throw a fit.
A Haru fit.
They're terrible things.
Unfortunately, one school day not long after they ran around in the rain like crazy people, he finds his limbs heavier than usual, his throat scratchy. He manages to get out of bed and to school mostly on time, though he's subdued and quieter than usual when he goes to pick up Haru. He can sense Haru's eyes on him, but...it's just easier to be quiet when he's this tired.
After school, there's swim practice, of course.
He tells Kou sheepishly that he's not feeling well, because he wouldn't be much of a mother hen if he couldn't take his own advice, but then Nagisa drags him into the pool and Haru pulls on him to swim some real laps and...
Well, he ends up swimming at swim practice despite the fact that he's not feeling well. When he gets home, he manages to get up to his room--
And then he slumps into bed without even bothering to change, though thankfully there were showers at the school gym and he is no longer in his swimsuit. Gym bag on the floor in a messy pile (very unlike him), Makoto tries to get as much of that much-needed sleep as he can...
But all too soon it's time to get up again for school. He stands, moving almost on automatic...
And hits the floor.
Yeah, he's not going anywhere any time soon.]
