you can't spell "alone" without "leon" ([personal profile] discard) wrote in [community profile] realpolitik 2015-12-13 12:24 am (UTC)

Don't.

[Leon aims for a sharp tone, but really what he ends up with is something closer to pleading. Don't point it out. Don't point out how much he failed, how thoroughly he's lost. Because even if Leon still appreciates the warmth of Stahn's hands with his, the majority of him still feels as though he's been defeated in some way, and that is never something Leon has taken well.

So don't--please don't point it out. He can only handle so much of this.

Because when you strip away all of that, everything that Stahn has been pulling away bit by bit--all of the arrogance, all of the coldness, all of the attempts to keep people away--what's left is little more than a lonely, isolated teenage boy who doesn't know how to interact with people in any other way.

Right here and now, he doesn't know what he's doing.

But Stahn is holding his hands with such affection, and it's the sort of warmth that Leon has felt himself being drawn to more and more... so even as he bows his head in what can only be acknowledgement of his defeat, he's soaking in that warmth from Stahn's gestures. Even as his shoulders are tense, he's still holding on as though they're his lifeline.

Because really, the only thing he has to count on or depend on right now is...Stahn.
