It's a little hard to explain, but I feel I was walking towards him all along and he was just waiting for me to realize it.

Izanagi. . . the creation god who traversed the land of Yomi-no-kuni to retrieve his wife, only to find her return impossible. He then betrayed his promise not to look at her, and gazed upon her rotted form. In her rage, Izanami threatened to kill one thousand of his people every day. Izanagi countered by promising to that one thousand and five hundred would be born every day.

But it wasn't until after he returned from Yomi that Izanagi decided to remove all uncleanliness from his body by bathing in the river Ahakihara in Tachibana no Ono in Tsukushi.

So maybe it's something like that?

My clothes change to protect me from the distortions of the Palaces we enter. It's a manifestation of my "will of rebellion."

I think you're right about the obstacles being different, though. All three of us have different summoning methods. You noticed, right?

Kind of. Basic concept, but they helped us get through the area we were fighting in. Without them, it would have been impossible to see what was around us.
