State of the RP;

state of the rp: general

WHY DO I HAVE SO MANY TRIGGER HAPPY APPING URGES? I don't have time to play so many characters, but there are so many characters I want to play. I know it's a bit of balancing out what I've got on top of loving these characters, but sheesh. Slow down, self! Don't kneejerk app anywhere!

But I know that part of it is just that I'm having so much fun with RP that I want to SPREAD MY FUN FURTHER. And invade everyone's casts and games and I really need to just chill out oops.
HAVEN
state of the game

Haven is pretty much a home game at this point. I feel really comfortable here, I've hit a groove, and goodness gracious, I've been here for a long time. Eight months...where did the time go? Anyway! Haven is great, I never struggle to make AC, everyone is so wonderful and accommodating, and I'm really glad for all of my CR and threads! Sometimes keeping up with the plot can be a little daunting, but for the most part, I'm really pleased with where I am in Haven!
character: Morgan [[personal profile] intendance]
age: 16....????
series: Fire Emblem: Awakening
time played: 8 months, cripes

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

I am actually very confident with Morgan! I like that she's weird and zany and I can say just about anything with her and it'll be canon enough, and I like that when threads get stale she can spice them up because she's weird. But she's a weird I can handle, and while she's got a lot of energy, she's also very honest and doesn't force it, which makes her easy to play. I don't know--Morgan tags brighten my day. Coming home to a bunch of threads of hers always brings a smile to my face.

And when I read her supports I know I'm on the right track, so I'm really glad for that!

cast strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

We lost a bunch of people recently, which is always tough on any cast, but I'm glad that they were there while they could be! Our cast may be much smaller now, but everyone is wonderful, and I really adore Morgan's relationship with all of them. As always, my kingdom for a Robin, but we might be getting a female one, so that'll be a special sort of interesting!

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

HAHAHA what doesn't Morgan get interested in? The correct response to that question is "nothing". Morgan can get involved in anything and often will without even needing an invitation. And usually I don't even feel overwhelmed when she does like I did with Minato. I think that's probably because the weight of the world isn't on her shoulders--she's just a loser kid getting into trouble.

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Eheheheh. Let's just say I've considered making a Morgan's Harem Chart with how well she gets along with people in Haven.

THAT SAID, I'VE STILL PINNED ALL OF MY HOPES ON MORGAN TO PLAY AN IN-GAME CROSS-CANON SHIP SO. I'm rooting for you, Morgan...! And shipping you with way too many people. But this is Fire Emblem: Ship Wars, so I'm allowed to do that.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

NOPE. Nope nope and also nope. I love Morgan, I love playing her in Haven, I love her CR and I love how she deals with the trauma and horror Haven brings. She's not going anywhere any time soon.

development/final thoughts:

Let's look at what Morgan has gone through in Haven. She was turned into a "monster" which was actually just herself and almost killed her friends, and she was killed by Lucina. She saw a memory that was of just that, which was traumatizing. She was kidnapped by Dr. Kite and experimented on--he cut open her head, took away her memories (again) and gave her the memory of her killing her father. After that, she saw her Father die in front of her thanks to the ghosts. Then she was kidnapped again and put through the Wisdom test (which wasn't really that traumatizing for her). And then her father disappeared.

Basically, Morgan has been through a lot in Haven. And right now, she's smiling, she's cheerful, and she's feeling pretty good about life.

She's kind of remarkable that way. I'm not sure if she can really have any meaningful development through trauma, but I suppose we'll see. For now, I'll just enjoy the fact that she rebounds from trauma as if it had never happened, and I know she can take whatever Haven throws at her.

character: March [[personal profile] xyresic]
age: 15, 16......ish....
series: March Story
time played: 6 months or so! Well, in Haven. Pining about playing her for about a year before that.

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

I don't know why I struggle so much with March. She's actually a very straightforward character, and I've read and re-read March Story at least a dozen times. But for some reason, her tags give me trouble. Partially it's the pronoun thing, since that always makes tags tough, but her voice constantly gives me trouble too.

I don't know if I'll ever really feel confident with March at this point. I mean, it's been six months.

cast strength: □ □ □ □ □

I'll take Casts that Will Never Exist for 1000--

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

As a shounen protagonist, March's potential should really be higher than that. But usually I dive in with Morgan first, which is why. I also get really daunted when March has too many tags at a time, mostly because it takes me ages to get through them all.

When I get over those misgivings, though, I love her CR and I love her reactions to things and plotting things with her. Overall, March has had really rewarding time in Haven and really amazing experiences, so I'm trying really hard to improve my kneejerk Morgan reaction.

shipping potential: □ □ □ □ □

Laughs pitifully.

Considering next volume March is likely to die due to falling in love with Rodin and thus meet a terrible bad end, March's shipping potential is exactly nil. Ciel is trying to teach her how to let go of love. It's terribly tragic for March the romantic, but them's the breaks.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

Despite all of my complaints, this is also a nonexistent likelihood! I love March's CR, I love what March can do and I love her as a character. She's definitely not going anywhere, and I don't foresee myself having to drop her for a long time, really.

development/final thoughts:

March is the flip side to Morgan--she hasn't been through much trauma, but she reacts very poorly to it. Which is interesting in and of itself to play out. She was traumatized badly by dying and is still working through that, as well as trying to figure out her existential crisis of "why did I struggle so hard for so long if it's that meaningless". She's working through it slowly, but it's definitely slow going.

Otherwise, I have no idea where she's going to go from here! It's a little exciting, playing such a volatile character!

HOMELESS
state of the game

Here are all of the losers I'm considering.......and I don't even know why I'm so hung up on apping them all. Mitsuhide is a definite, but I think Myth Making is slow enough that I'll be able to take that easy. As for the others...I keep wondering if I can handle a third at Haven or if I'm getting ahead of myself.

character: Mitsuhide Lowen [[personal profile] cavaliering]
age: 23
series: Akagami no Shirayukihime
time played: Uh...museboxing for a month or two!

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

Mitsuhide is a super easy voice for me. He's such a cheerful, carefree guy, yet undeniably a responsible adult. I can kind of relate to him a bit, which is undeniably why I like him so much. I'd like to canon review before I app him, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty confident!

cast strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

Kia will be joining me with Kiki, which is pretty much The Best Thing. All he really needs is his partner to be happy--and Zen, but well, he'll deal with it. It's going to be a dream come true to be in two casts with Kia, hee hee hee.

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

I think he'll be exactly as flexible as I need him to be! Admittedly, there's a part of plotting that is closed off by merit of him being a...sensible adult...but I'm sort of glad for that. I get more than enough shenanigans with Morgan. I could use a mature character in my line-up.

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

PSSST KIKI--

But no really. If I can get him and Kiki together in game I will consider myself accomplished. THEY ARE MEANT TO BE, IT JUST HASN'T HAPPENED IN CANON YET.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

I haven't even apped him yet, shhhhhhhh.

development/final thoughts:

I'm just really excited to have an adult and yet light-hearted character to balance out Morgan and March being CRAZY GIRLCHILDREN. Hopefully he'll do the job. I really miss having motherhen CR.
character: Mockingbird (Barbara Morse) [[personal profile] counterterrorism]
age: hahaha comic books and ages. She's probably in her 30's.
series: Marvel Comics
time played: Pretty much nonexistent

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

Despite still reading through a lot of the comics, Bobbi's an easy voice for me. She's a lot like a superhero Donna with extra badassery. She takes no prisoners and accepts no shit, but has a great sense of humor, and I appreciate that. She's also ridiculously competent, which would make her maintenance but tons of fun.

I think I could play her well, if I chose to go this route.

cast strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

I haven't actually poked at much of the comics cast at Haven, though not through lack of desire to! Admittedly, we've mostly got DC comics there, but it would still be tons of fun to bounce her off of other superheroes. And there are some MCU reserves and Marvel comics reserves, though nobody she's particularly invested in. Admittedly, that's probably for the better--I haven't read as many of the comics as I would like when it comes to the other big name players, mostly due to time constraints. Not that it would affect her relationship with them, but she would know what was going on, at least.

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

The reason for apping Mockingbird would be to fill in a gap in my plotting potential which is a hole created by merit of playing IRRITATINGLY CHEERFUL GIRLCHILDREN.

Bobbi is sensible, cynical, sarcastic and an adult. She's also a superhero with some grey morals and a wide range of experiences. I'm hoping she can get involved in the metaplot better than Morgan or March can, as well as being able to offer more to Haven as a whole and get CR with characters that the other two can't quite click with. HIGH HOPES but she's quite different from my current line up.

shipping potential: ■ ■ □ □ □

"It's Complicated".

Admittedly she's not married to Clint anymore, but she was, and now she's kinda sorta dating him but It's Still Complicated and mostly she'll be in no hurry to rush into anything. Considering Haven's average age bracket, it's noooot gonna be a problem.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

I AM A LITTLE WORRIED--what if I can't keep up with her spy-like tendencies, etc etc etc. But we'll come to that when we come to that.

development/final thoughts:

Pros for apping Bobbi:
I'VE NEVER PLAYED A SUPERHERO BEFORE
She's way different from my current roster
She's hyper-competent and can totally deal with Haven's mindscrewing
She can get involved in the overarching plot
She can get me CR with the comics casts

Cons for apping Bobbi:
She will undoubtedly be high-maintenance
COMICS HAHAHA COMICS how do I read enough comics
Did I mention comics?
character: Nergal [[personal profile] culpam]
age: hell if I know. Eternally young first-generation werewolf here
series: Crepuscule
time played: HA. This is Jan's fault and it just happened and it's a terrible idea

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

Things I would have to do before I could play him properly: read through Crepuscule again. Still, he's not that prominent in it, so I could probably manage that easily enough. Things I would also have to do--try to figure out how his everything works.

That's a bit more complicated.

cast strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

ONE OF THE MAJOR DRAWS--I would be in a cast with Jan and Jae, kyaa kyaa. Has that ever happened before? I have no idea. But that would be so much fun. And they're both amazing and it would be fascinating to play with them mostly because I'd be playing the manipulative bastard oops. Moe also seems wonderful and honestly, if Devit apps Tepes, we'd have an awesome and totally dysfunctional cast.

My favorite sort.

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ □ □

As a manipulative bastard, Nergal would not be poking his pointy nose into anything that doesn't interest him. However, that would work in my favor, seeing as March and Morgan are more than hyperactive enough, and having a less social character would not hurt at all. Besides which, he's extroverted where it counts, i.e. being a gentleman, figuring out how to accomplish his goals, and manipulating the people around him.

Wow it's like playing Break all over again.

shipping potential: □ □ □ □ □

Laughs forever.

Seeing as Nergal's major motivation is for the love of his fiancee, this is never going to be a thing.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

CURRENTLY NOT THE ISSUE BEING DISCUSSED.

development/final thoughts:

Pros for apping confetti hair:
He will fill the Break-shaped hole in my life
He has a cane and top hat. Whoa classy
He is a fox werewolf thing, I mean whoa
I AM IN LOVE WITH HIS MAGIC
He is on the extreme other end of the scale from my current list which is awesome
He also will get involved in the meta-plot
His name doesn't start with 'M'
Being in a cast with Jae and Jaaaaan

Cons for apping confetti hair:
He will undoubtedly be high-maintenance
Figuring out how all of the mechanics of the Crepuscule world...actually...work...
Manipulative bastards don't make friends :(
