[Here is a magical girl flavored post with magical girl flavored prompts, starring--]
a. the stupidest prompt I could think of
[The scene is a restaurant--a cozy cafe, not too high end, but nice enough. Maybe you're working there. Maybe you're just trying to order your damn coffee. Either way, one second you're peacefully chilling near the counter or behind the counter, and the next there's a girl in a school uniform climbing on top of it on her hands and knees, reaching for something that seems to have fallen between two of the coffee machines.
She...pauses when your eyes meet.
And ever-so-politely:]
Pardon me.
[But she's not climbing down.
THIS IS A CAFE, LOSER.]
b. the one with a cat
[Sometimes, alley cats are very feral and scared of humans--but that is not at all the case for this one. This little black and white adventurous soul is very eager and willing to tumble forward, meowing loudly and begging for scraps. Clearly he's seen humans before and has been treated kindly.
Konoha, however, is frozen solid, staring at the kitten blocking her path. It's pretty comical, really. She doesn't necessarily look scared, but she does look like she's not entirely sure what to do.
Konoha.exe has shorted out, apparently, and is not sure how to deal with this demanding kitten who is blocking her path.
Aaaaah???]
c. the obligatory fight scene
[It's really impossible to say how you got there. One second you're wandering about, minding your own business, and the next! You're in a labyrinth. It has a particular vibe to it, with little assholes that are going to chase you around and try to kill you.
Possibly by ripping your arms off and/or stabbing you. What fun!
The labyrinth is disorienting, and seems to go in circles and circles, and then--
There's a girl dressed in ridiculous clothing in front of you, slicing away a familiar with a butterfly edged spear.
...]
What are you doing here? [wow, ice cold]
d. the "why is this happening" scene
[One second you're safely wandering the grocery store, the next AN ENTIRE TOWER OF APPLES is falling down from the apple stand your way.
WHAT DO YOU DO.]
e. or make up your own and hit me with it, i'm super open to anything

[Aisaku will kick out a magical circle that stitches the Witch in place if it makes any other moves. From there, he leaps up into the air and comes down with a flying kick! More magic circles appear in front of his foot as literal flames ignite from the boot.]
RAIDER KICK! TON TRAMPLEEEEEE!!
[He comes down like a flaming arrow to pierce a hole right through the Witch's chest! Aisaku skids to a sliding stop and takes a deep breath. Compared to his usual hot-blooded enthusiasm, this next line is delivered with absolute calm.]
Game set.
[And on cue, the Witch explodes with him not even looking back at it.]
no subject
She will never ever admit it, not in a thousand years--not in ten thousand years... but.
That was pretty cool.
She slowly lets her lance lower and then disappear, sighing as the labyrinth wavers and then also fades away, leaving them standing in the midst of a quiet shopping center. Her magical girl outfit disappears in a flash of light, leaving her in her standard school uniform.
She crosses her arms.]
Alright then. That takes care of that.

[Aisaku wasn't sure if he was going to get used to that. He was so used to fighting monsters out in the open, but people were usually evacuated before the fighting escalated. Aisaku's dark armor slides down his body like ink before it returned to its normal shape... An actual shadow. If a third party were paying attention to Aisaku's feet, they would've noticed that he didn't have a shadow until now.
His regular civvie outfit could easily fit him in a rock band, but Aisaku doesn't know how to play the guitar. He's more of a martial artist. He'll take a second to check out Konoha's normal clothes... He could definitely confirm that she didn't go to his school. Was she from one of those rich ones?]
Huh. So that's what you look like with the magical frills off. It looks good on you.
no subject
Konoha was clearly not anticipating that, and she flusters, looking away quickly, one hand pressed to her chest.]
That's, ah--
[...!!]
N... nobody asked for your opinion...!
no subject
[Did he say something weird?! Aisaku is left completely flabbergasted before he goes to his next question. Actually, it's a lot of questions that he's pretty concerned about.]
Wait... Are you from a rich school? Like is it really okay for you to be running around the streets as a magical girl? What if you get flagged for curfew or somethin'?
no subject
No. I go to a regular school. And as I take care of myself, it doesn't matter how late I am out.
Please just--keep it down. It's not widely known what I am or what I do. Do you understand?
no subject
He didn't want to betray Konoha's trust. What little that seemed to be, Aisaku felt like he gained something and didn't want to blow it. Plus it'd be sad if he couldn't talk to her again.]
Mmm... Okay. I'll keep my mouth shut then. Only a handful of people know 'bout the dangerous stuff I do, but I already trust you.
[She didn't seem like the loose lipped type. In some ways, that was certainly a blessing...]
So you think that there's other girls like you out there? You all could just form a team to take care of these creepy witch things.
no subject
He barely... knows her? How does he trust her? They fought together, but that was out of necessity, so how--
(Guys like this... are definitely nothing but trouble.)]
... There are. It's... a complicated situation. And not one I'm interested in discussing with you.
[She has issues, okay... it's hard to be friends with other magical girls.
A slow breath in, and she crosses her arms.]
But... I won't reveal your secrets either. That is only fair, since you have agreed to keep mine. You can...at least count on me for that much.
no subject
It felt like all of them had ended up gathering together in one place. Whenever he felt lost or just needed a safe haven, it was usually there that Aisaku felt like he could relax. Now that he thought abut it... He's not sure if Konoha had a 'save point' area like that.]
So, uh... There's a place that I like to hang out whenever I feel like unwindin'. I dunno if you're into coffee, but...
[He'll take a moment to fidget around in his jeans until he fishes out a business card. Good. He had remembered to keep a spare on him to help promote Shunji for more customers! He'll be holding it out to Konoha...]
Here you go. It's a cafe called the Steamy Sketch. And my childhood friend is the manager! It's a small joint, so it'd be nice to see some new customers every now and then. I'd... really like to see you there sometime.
[The address and number were all printed on the card. He figures that it'd be weird to ask what school she went to... The last thing he wanted to do was come off as a creepy stalker and make her feel uncomfortable. A public place like this felt like it would've been more easier to see her again. He doesn't even know how likely it would've been to end up in one of those strange labyrinths by chance.]
And we've got other stuff 'sides coffee! Cakes, sandwiches, cookies... You name it!
no subject
... Well.
This is also the first time anyone has ever offered her something like that. She stares at him for a long, long moment, his card outstretched, long enough for it to be absolutely awkward... and then, slowly and carefully she reaches out to take it.]
... Are you sure?
[... What a strange response to an invitation.
She clears her throat, recognizing at least that much.]
I'd assumed that...we would go our separate ways after this, permanently. I can't think of any advantage that seeing me again would give you.
no subject
[Even the dim-witted Aisaku could tell that Konoha wasn't much of the socializing type. It's actually surprising since if she went to his school, he felt like she'd be very popular with her looks and demeanor. For a moment, he wonders what her school life was like... But figured that it'd be best not to pry about that.
He puts a hand on his hip to break things down... If his friends were here, they would be damn impressed with Aisaku actually sounding smart.]
Look at it like this... You'll get a free spot to hang out and you'll get lots of food. Plus if a witch shows up, then you got me around to be some extra muscle. Thinking isn't much of my forte, but smashing things are. I think you're getting more out of this than I am, princess.
no subject
... I'm not opposed, but... why do you offer, then?
[If she's getting more out of this than he is... she can't really comprehend that maybe, just maaaaybe... he's doing this out of the goodness of his heart.]
no subject
[The answer for Aisaku was very simple. Did he ever need a reason to help someone who was in need? It's not like Konoha was murdering people in front of his eyes. She was helping the city which was more than enough for him. So he whips his finger at her face and says very loudly-]
IT'S BECAUSE I LIKE YOU!
[As a person, he means. But since this is Aisaku, it comes out like that without him even thinking more deeply about it. If Serika were here, she would be doing a very hilarious spit take.]
[1/???]
He whips a finger into her face and yells loudly enough that her immediate reaction is to snap back, puffing up like an angry cat.]
You--!
no subject
Her expression crumbles immediately from irritation to... confusion. Puzzlement. And... a bit of shock and embarrassment slowly seeping in.
He said that, didn't he?
He really said it.
He said--]
no subject
like.
like.
like
like]
ok done
How is anyone?]
T-that isn't-- What are you--
You are... absolutely incomprehensible...!!
no subject
[Wait a second. Aisaku takes a second to back track... Oh. That did come out strange. He should try and smooth things out!]
H-Hold on! What I meant to say was that... I like you for who you are!
[That makes much more sense, right?! RIGHT?!]
no subject
That makes it even worse--!
[She turns away immediately, though it's more to hide the red in his face than anything.
Aaaaaaaaah.]
no subject
[Aisaku hesitates for a moment as he looks down into his empty hand. There were more enemies out there asides the Schatten... How many people have been lost to those monsters? He still remembers the warmth of Ryouhei's hand and Keziah's hand before they both died.
Now that he had gotten a taste of despair, he didn't want anyone else to experience the same horrors that he did. Could he call himself a hero? No, there were plenty out there who were more deserving of that title... But if he had the power to do something now, then he wasn't going to sit back and watch anymore.]
And you're a lot smarter than I am when it comes to fighting those things. I know this shit ain't a game and people can die. But I just... I don't want to lose anyone else important to me.
no subject
She's never been described that way before, and despite herself, her breath catches a little--and then she shakes herself, looking away to hide the flush on her face. All of this is just... just too embarrassing...!!
... Still, then his tone grows more serious.]
... Listen. You... you need to watch the way you state things.
But if you truly are concerned about fighting witches, then... that much, I understand. You could say that I--I have no choice but to fight them. So I will continue to do so, to protect everyone.
no subject
[Aisaku said that he'd try, yet he didn't really understand what she meant by that! It was like telling a dog not to do something, but you know that they're going to do it again eventually. One of his best qualities was being empathetic enough to understand when someone's mood was changing (most of the time), so he's at least able to read that from her tone alone.]
Well, I guess we're in the same boat. The enemies that I gotta fight are like those witch things... I deal with creatures that come out from people's hearts. They're literally shadows... Or we like to call 'em Schatten.
[Zelraiders and Schatten were two sides of the same coin. The only difference was that he was able to keep his sense of self and they weren't.]
no subject
... shadows...]
That doesn't sound entirely the same, but... there are too many similarities to feel comfortable, too.
[She purses her lips.]
It must be dangerous--right?
no subject
[They haven't reached a point where they could just project their own dimensions yet. But that time could come upon them someday... One of the scariest things about the Schatten was that they were unpredictable and learned like humans did. Sometimes, Aisaku felt like he was living out a creepy sci-fi movie.]
That's why I believe that human bonds are really damn important. I know it sounds really cheesy, but it's that power that can help us fight against those things.
no subject
It sounds very cheesy. I don't see how bonds are supposed to help with that sort of thing at all.
The only thing you can really count on is your own strength.
